Castlehamilton is the perfect destination for a golfing holiday in Co. Cavan, Ireland. Cavan combines championship golf courses with excellent accommodation
and scenic location. The Golf Courses range from resort style venues to private
members clubs, one of which is the internationally famous championship course at The Slieve
Russell which has hosted some major European Tour events and is currently
ranked in the top 20 Inland Courses of Ireland. There is also the 117 year old
private members Cavan Golf Club established in 1894, and the newest Golf Club
open in the North West of Ireland The Farnham Estate Golf Course designed by

The Slieve Russell Champion Golf Course:

The closest of the many courses is the prestigious 18 hole Slieve
Russell course (7 min's away) which twists and turns around the lakes and
drumlins of the beautiful Cavan landscape and is a stunning and challenging
round of exiting golf. The Slieve Russell is set on a 300 acre site and this
course has hosted the European Tour events in the past. Prices start from
around €39.00.
The Belturbet Golf Course:

The exiting and perfectly manicured Belturbet 9 hole course
is small in comparison to most other courses around us, but don't let that draw
you into a false sense of security as this particular course has a very unique
set of challenging holes laid out in front of you to conquer. Especially the
"nasty ninth" as it is locally known. Belturbet course is just over
ten minutes drive away from us here and is very easy to find and get to. Prices here start at around €25 per round.

Many of its fairways are lined with mature trees which
present a continuous challenge especially on holes 14 to 18 which are regarded
as an interesting finishing stretch in the Midlands. The 180 metre tenth is a
very challenging hole from a tee-box in front of the clubhouse to a new green
under the shadow of an ancient chestnut tree and indexed accordingly at 9 for
Men and 12 for Ladies. The clubhouse itself provides a pleasant environment in
which to relax after a game where snack and bar food is available. Green fees
start from €20 per round.

This is a truly beautiful golf course and it is over 500
acres with rolling Cavan countryside and dense woodland. There is an
unmistakable sense of nature all around and an atmosphere of peace and quiet
that can not fail to capture the spirit of relaxation, just exactly what you
need while enjoying a round of perfect golf. This is a challenging long course
by any standard and to ensure enjoyment and year long play, there are buggy
paths throughout the estate and plenty of benches and rest stops along the way.
Green fees start at around €40 for this course.
The Balinamore Golf Club:

The Balinamore course is situated one and a half miles north
west of the town of Ballinamore alongside Shannon-Erne waterway in
"lovely" County Leitrim. It was designed by Dr Arthur Spring and is a
challenging nine-hole parkland course. It measures just over 6000 yards and the
test is made more difficult on some of the holes by the beautiful Woodford
canal which runs through the course. Green fees start at a very reasonable and competitive€25
all year round.
